Laws governing Civil Aviation in Kenya were initially contained in the Civil Aviation Act (Cap 384) and the Kenya Airports Authority Act (Cap 385). The Civil Aviation Act was reviewed in 2013, leading to the adoption of the Civil Aviation Act No. 21 of 2013. This was further reviewed to include aspects of Aviation Security. This was in line with Kenya trying to qualify for Category I status so as to have direct flights to USA.
